Brick Race

Privacy Policy

Last updated

Brick Race is a single-player arcade game made by Manh Pham ("I", "me"). It has no account, no sign-in and no server of its own. The game itself does not collect personal data; the only data that leaves your device goes to the ad network, the app store and, on iOS, Game Center, as described below.

In short: your scores and settings stay on your phone. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which receives device and usage data to show and measure ads. Buying Remove Ads stops all ads. I never sell your data and never see your payment details.

What stays on your device

The game saves a few values in the app's local storage on your phone. They are never sent to me:

  • Your top 5 scores for each lane mode.
  • Your last lane mode and speed, and whether sound is muted.
  • Whether you bought Remove Ads, so ads stay off while you are offline.

The game also uses vibration on new records and crashes. It does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or precise location.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Brick Race is free and shows an interstitial ad every few runs, after the Game Over screen. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. When ads are enabled, the AdMob SDK collects and sends to Google:

  • Device identifiers: the advertising ID on Android, and on iOS the identifier for vendors (the game does not ask for tracking permission, so the iOS advertising identifier is not available to it).
  • IP address, from which an approximate location is derived.
  • Ad interactions such as views and taps, and app usage needed to deliver and measure ads.
  • Diagnostics: crash and performance data from the ad SDK, and device information such as model, OS version and language.

Google uses this data to serve ads, measure them, prevent fraud and, where you allow it, personalize ads. How Google uses data from apps that use its services is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. On first launch the game shows Google's consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before any ad is requested. You can accept, refuse or choose purposes, and change your choice at any time from the PRIVACY entry in HELP on the start screen. Outside those regions no form is shown.

In-app purchase

The optional Remove Ads purchase is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store, through the Unity In-App Purchasing library. I receive no card or billing details. Store purchase records are kept by Google or Apple under their own privacy policies, and the purchase can be restored on a new device with RESTORE on the start screen (or by reinstalling on Android with the same Google account).

Game Center (iOS)

On iOS, if you are signed in to Game Center, the game submits your best score for each lane mode to Apple Game Center leaderboards, where it is shown with your Game Center nickname. This is handled by Apple under its privacy policy. If you are not signed in, nothing is sent. Android has no online leaderboard.

Your choices

  • Stop all ads: buy Remove Ads. Once owned, the game no longer shows ads.
  • Change ad consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland): PRIVACY in HELP on the start screen.
  • Limit ad personalization: on Android, Settings > Privacy > Ads to reset or delete your advertising ID; on iOS, Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising.
  • Play offline: the game works without an internet connection, in which case no ads are requested and nothing is sent.

Children

Brick Race is not directed at children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact me and I will help to have it removed.

Retention and deletion

  • Data on your device is deleted when you uninstall the game or clear its app data.
  • Data received by Google AdMob is retained according to Google's privacy policy. Resetting your advertising ID disconnects it from your device.
  • Game Center scores can be managed in your Apple account settings.
  • There is no Brick Race account, so there is no account to delete. Since I do not hold any personal data about you, there is nothing for me to delete either, but you can always write to me with questions.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because the game does not send personal data to me, requests about ad data are best made to Google using the links above; I am happy to help with any request at the address below. I do not sell personal information.
